PLC settings (GX Works 3)

1) Create a blank FX5U project

2) Find the 485 serial port module in the system navigation bar and double click to enter the settings.

3) Select the MELSOFT protocol in the setting item. Other protocols could be selected as needed according to the external device model connected to the serial port.

4) Set parameters, they need to match the selected protocol. If MELSOFT protocol is selected, click on the [Apply] button.

5) If user chooses the user defined or Modbus protocol, baud rate setting is required, stop bit and parity bit as shown above.

6) Click the [Apply] button to finish the setting.

7) Click download and select the items as below, then click [execute] to download the configuration to PLC.

8) As soon as download is completed, connect PLC with serial port, then configure it in the [Specify Connection Destination Connection].

9) Done.
